Aww you guys. I could not be more excited to write these words. I would like to introduce you to my beautiful puppy- Tippi. Tippi is a cream long haired miniature dachshund and I have had her for about three weeks now. 5 Things I’ve been doing
WATCHING… Queer Eye. This program. Oh this program. It's just too perfect. I had last week at home and it didn't stop snowing outside. We're talking absolute chilled-to-the-bone temperatures here, you guys. So I did what every self respecting millennial would do- I curled up in bed and watched Netflix shows. Everything about this show is touching as hell. The variety of homosexuality that is presented, the acceptance from everyone they encounter, the personal journeys. I have been looking forward to writing this post for… nearly a year? So, in early 2017 I started to read a lot about hydroponics. For those of you that are side-eyeing your screen right now, hydroponics is a way of growing plants without using soil. The thinking goes a little-summin-like-this… Soil is actually a pretty poor nutrient delivery system. Water, on the other hand, is very efficient- a clean and direct middle man between your plant and all the things it needs. Actionable Advice: Journaling
Journaling has changed a lot of things for me. I’ve often liked the idea of journaling but saw it as a reaaally unnecessary time sap. I thought the idea of being able to look back on a record of your time was really great but the idea of actually sitting down with a diary and talking about my feelings seemed a little 13 year old angsty. My mind was changed by one of my best friends, Matt. I had been living with him for a couple of years and had the absolute pleasure of watching him truly blossom. Like seriously. Did you know that this week is mental health awareness week? At least in the UK anyway, in the USA they're taking the whole month. And so I thought now was a really good chance to share some mental health related goodness in the form of a whole series of posts about 'Actionable Advice'. Why Actionable you ask? Weeeeeell I think we really need it as a community. In the last couple of years, people have done an amazing job in reducing the stigma of mental illness. People 'coming out' as suffering from depression or anxiety was such an important step to making people feel better. I am currently job hunting and let me tell you, it's as boring as it sounds. It's generally a slog and then every now and then you get a little glimmer of people being lovely and helpful and great. I met for an interview last week and had the nicest experience; not only was the lady I met with absolutely delightful, she also made all my fashion senses tingle with happy. She was basically rocking that whole pulled together-artsy-professional look from her cool hair cut to her leopard print ankle boots. But! According to the infamous Leslie Knope, today is Galentine’s day. When my brother first got his own place I remember he went on this art buying binge. He bought a load of these really really cool screen printed alternative movie posters. Stuff by Olly Moss and Mondo and the like. I remember just sitting these as the little punk-ass kid I was and just rolling my eyes. For whatever reason I just couldn't compute why he was buying art.
